Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago passes away

Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago passed away on Thursday morning at the age of 71, according to her husband Atty. Jun Santiago.

He said she "died peacefully in her sleep".

The former lawyer said that she had stage 4 lung cancer.

No further details have been given by the family as of press time. MJM
